100000 Tassels strives to advance wellness in Lapeer, so our community can be the best it can for all residents. That's why 100000 Tassels was created: to donate $100,000 to Lapeer community organizations in various increments & make tassels to fund the organization and allow us to jointly make a difference.

At age 27, my little sister Kristine was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She spent most of her adult life unfairly battling this cruel disease. Yet, while her body has left her physically unable to function properly, her love and optimism have soared! Kristine is my inspiration. Watching her struggle yet always support others has revealed the true power of love and caring. Her amazing strength has given me strength! And purpose! I want to be like my little sister and care for others deeply - to be part of something bigger than myself. I want to make some kind of difference in this world. Kristine is the guiding light that has compelled me to create the charitable organization 100000 Tassels.

100000 Tassels is a unique organization. It plans to give away $100,000 to Lapeer-area charities and groups in various increments. This money can help our community become more “well” in so many ways. like assisting The Refuge or the Youth Advisory Committee make Lapeer a better community for all.
Of course, there’s more to this than just giving away money. There’s the Tassels: unique and beautiful tassel necklaces, purse and pet adornments, custom tassels, and more.
100000 Tassels will make and sell tassels to the community to replenish the giving fund. It also invites people to help make tassels as an individual or group or even take a class. We call it Team Tassel! 100000 Tassels also will sell tassels at fairs, festivals, and the upcoming Ladies Night Out November 17, 5-9 pm, in downtown Lapeer. We will be located in St. Matthews Church, selling tassels for $5 each. Please stop by!
Creating an organization like this has been on my heart for years. It’s a way to do good in this world and honor my sister. That’s why I chose the sunflower as our logo.
